Your first real conversation in Irish
Whether you never learned a word or you did Irish in school and feel like you've lost it, this course is where you start. Eight weeks, a small group, a real teacher. By the end you'll be speaking Irish, not just studying it.
What you'll do
From your first word to your first real conversation
Every week combines a short video lesson you watch in your own time with a live Tuesday evening Zoom where you put it all into practice: speaking, listening and building confidence with Jane and a small group of people on the same journey.
Watch the video lesson
20–30 minutes video, recorded by Jane. Watch it whenever suits you during the week. This is your preparation for Tuesday.
Join the live Zoom
Every Tuesday 6–7pm Irish time. This is where you speak. Jane doesn't lecture, she listens, responds, and corrects warmly in the flow of conversation.
Weekly voice challenge
A short WhatsApp prompt every week. One minute of spoken Irish in your own time. Small habit. Big difference over 8 weeks.
What you'll cover over 8 weeks
Pronunciation: how to read Irish, with poems to practise
Greetings, introductions and everyday phrases
Vocabulary: weather, home, clothes, days, feelings, colours, pets, numbers
The verb 'bí': past, present and future tense
Building sentences with 'ar' and 'ag' structures
10 Irish proverbs: the wisdom of the language
3 Irish songs: language learned through music stays forever

Why this works
An Irish course to teach you how to actually speak
Small group. Real attention.
Maximum 15 students in the live cohort. Jane knows your name and hears your voice every week. You won't get lost in a crowd or left behind.
Speaking from session one.
No passive listening. Every Tuesday you speak Irish. Grammar is explained when it's needed, in context, not in advance. That's the whole point.
A teacher who grew up speaking Irish.
Jane grew up in the Gaeltacht. She didn't just study Irish, she grew up surrounded by the language and culture.
Songs, poems and proverbs.
You'll learn songs in Irish, use poems to practise pronunciation and pick up 10 proverbs along the way.
