Conversation Club
Club Comhrá
September 2026
The Conversation Club is a small group of people who love Irish meeting every week to speak it and practice together with Jane.
Two levels available:
Everyday Irish • Irish in Depth
For people who know their tenses and want to use them
You can talk about the past, the present and the future in Irish. You've done the work. What you need is a relaxed, regular place to actually use it. That's what this is.
Each week Jane picks a topic from everyday life and the group chats in Irish as best they can. Jane listens, joins in, and corrects warmly within the flow of conversation. Nobody is put on the spot. Before each session Jane sends a short vocabulary note so you arrive with something to say.
You have some Irish and you want to use it. You're not looking for grammar explanations. You just want to speak.
€165 for 6 weeks
Join Everyday IrishFor people who can hold a conversation and want more
You're past the basics. You want to talk about deeper things in Irish mythology, poetry, current affairs, literature, the big questions. You want to be stretched.
Each week Jane sends a short text in advance: a news story, a poem, an extract, a mythological tale. You arrive having read it. Then the group discusses it, in Irish, with Jane facilitating. The conversations go where they go.
You can hold a conversation in Irish and you want to push yourself further into the language and the culture.

Frequently Asked Questions
If you know your past, present and future tense and want to practise using them in everyday conversation, Everyday Irish is for you. If you can already hold a conversation in Irish and want to go deeper into the language, choose Irish in Depth.
Sessions aren't recorded, but Jane will send a vocabulary and topic summary after each one so you don't feel left behind.
They run at different times on the same Wednesday, so it's technically possible. But six weeks of weekly speaking practice is already a real commitment. Make sure you have enough time for both.
A new round begins in January with completely fresh topics. Many people come back round after round, that's how fluency builds. There's no pressure to move up until you're ready.
Everyday Irish is designed for that. Imperfect Irish is very welcome.
Jane will speak in Munster Irish but other dialects are more than welcome, it's a great way for everyone to learn new dialects.
